Pretty in Pink

It’s Spring, and the days are finally getting warmer and sunnier. Nature is once again accepting warm colors….which is usually the time to pull out the colorful clothes. I had been meaning to get a colorful suit consisting of a blazer and shorts, yet more often than not, I’d find myself opting for pant or skirt suit options. However, finding the perfect suit that consists of shorts and a blazer is much more difficult than it seems. Who likes to wear shorts that ride up and display a large portion of the butt? (Aside from Jessica Simpson in Dukes of Hazard.) Anyway, after trying on numerous options at various stores, I fell in love with this pink version from Zara. It fits well, covers the necessities, and doesn’t require yanking to keep my behind covered. Originally, I saw it at the store but thought it would be too bright on me (plus I had no clue how to style it), yet after seeing it on Blaire of Atlantic-Pacific I knew I had to have it. And so, without further adieu, the suit!

Last night Dmitry and I had the pleasure of attending an 80s disco themed birthday. It took me a minute to figure out what exactly 80s disco theme is, but I was able to pull this together. I think the coat made all the difference. This is not exactly something I’d wear as an everyday outfit, but something about the colors and all the gold and rhinestones made me feel beyond pretty! I wish every birthday had a theme, because this one was a blast!
Have you ever attended a theme party?

An absolutely wonderful day spent at The Dorothy Chandler Pavillion fully enjoying Ballet du Grand Theatre de Geneve. I absolutely love ballet and this modern take had me a bit discouraged in the beginning, yet by the second act they had me hooked. The fact that Benjamin Millepied, who choreographed the ballet, was in attendance was quite cool, although I would have loved to see Natalie as well. If you like ballet, I highly recommend seeing this one.
On another note, I have been unsuccessfully trying to choose between these two pairs of sunglasses. One is black and the other is on the brown side. Although I tend to veer toward the black, somehow the brown has caught my eye as well. So while I have both pairs on my dinning room table, as a daily reminder of my inability to make a decision, I ask you to share your opinion. Should I keep the black or brown? (and you must forgive the unpolished nails, I promise to get some color on them ASAP).
